The study trail is intended to present the traditions of the once proud market town of Hajdúnánás as an extensive animal husbandry past and the rich biological diversity of the pastures in Hajdúság. After all, by visiting it from spring to autumn, visitors can gain a lot of knowledge about the flora and fauna. It is at the starting point of the educational trail – in the Kendereskert In addition to the diverse fauna of the lowland steppes, interested parties can get acquainted with the essential equipment of traditional grassland management, grazing animal husbandry, and the native domestic animals of the lowland steppe.
The educational trail is about 3,500 meters long, with 10 stations, and can be explored on foot or, in dry weather, by bicycle from the starting point at the beach bath, from the large map on the wall of the bus interchange building, where you can view the educational trail’s route and stops before setting off.The visit is possible individually with the help of the hand-held guidebook, which can also be accessed with a smartphone with a QR code. The recommended duration of the tour is 2-3 hours.This can be followed by a more meaningful pastime at the end station by visiting the Kendereskert visitor center in the name of preserving and nurturing Nánás traditions! The nature trail was created by the Green Circle in 2021 on behalf of the Municipality of Hajdúnánás within the framework of the tourism project entitled “The Magyar Zürkék Útja – cultural thematic route in Hajdú-Bihar county” supported by the European Union and the Government of Hungary.
